Singles - Make this Valentine's Day Your Best Ever!

You will enjoy Valentine's Day most if you are positive and proactive, do something that raises your self esteem, set yourself a goal and believe you can achieve it.

1 Keep abreast with new material for singles
• Read How to get the man/woman you want by Katia Loisel-Furey & Paul Morris Segal www.entrenous.com.au/books
• Read Article Ten Top Tips for Finding the Right Partner www.entrenous.com.au/articles

2 Feel Good on Valentine's Day
Most people feel good when they do something for others.
• Volunteer to assist Red Cross collect for the Fire Appeal.
• Give blood
• Collect clothes from all your friends for the Fire Appeal.
• Do you have a friend or relative in need? Offer assistance.
• Telephone the friends you may have neglected in the past year.
• Keep busy, do those chores you have put into the 'too hard basket' or the "i haven't got time basket'.

3 Set A Goal for Your Future Happiness
Sit down and list the qualities you want in the type of partner you would like to spend the rest of your life with. Start with the end in sight. Don't start with a picture of a person. Unless you are going to create a blow up doll or a ceramic model forget the person, concentrate on the type of relationship you would like to have with a partner. List all the core values that are important to you in a relationship – your 'long-term' needs.

Now imagine having a partner in your life. Instead of saying, "I wish I had a partner", say to yourself, "Won't it be great when we are sharing sunsets together."; "Won't it be great when we cook together"; "Won't it be great when we go here together". Start saying 'we' and bring your dream person into your life.
Imagine making a space for that person in your life. Imagine the food you will cook and the music you will listen to. Bring that person into your life. How will you feel? This is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself this Valentine's Day.

4 Be productive: Don't labour the point, like getting all the girls together for a girl's or boy's night out. Instead be productive, have a party and ask everyone to bring a single person of the opposite sex. Either plan a party at home or book a restaurant to give yourself and your friends the opportunity to meet more people.

5 Learn something new:
Dancing classes, bridge lessons, tennis or fly-fishing or a 'cooking for two' class
or go on a tour.
Do a reading plan for all the books you want to read but never have time. Remember you CAN eat an elephant if you take one bite at a time.
